"Dis-Act" will enhance the inclusive potential of Theatre as an instrument of opening opportunities and dispelling prejudice against people with disability through the production of quality educational offer for operators and disabled adults themselves in Devised Theater.
The project lasts a total 24 months and involves 6 partners from Germany, Bulgaria, Italy, Estonia and Romania Dis-Act is addressed to an audience of direct targets (disabled adults aged 35-55 coming from disadvantaged urban and rural communities and Educators/Trainers providing or interested in providing support to their social inclusion) and indirect targets (Adult education institutions, NGOs, cultural businesses and associations, Arts centers/groups, Organizations of disabled people, Organizations/public agencies providing services for disabled people). Dis-Act will deliver the following tangible results in the 24 months of the cooperation: - Report of a research across partner countries identifying the needs and barriers of adults with disabilities (physical as well as cognitive) in the frame of Devised Theater as well as mapping the existing offer. The Report will be made widely visible on project Web Platform and partners' Websites as well as promoted on multiple levels through offline and online means. - Educational format based on NFE conceived as a term of reference for stakeholder institutions to put in place a specific educational offer aimed at training operators working with the adult target in implementing/supporting co-creation programmes in Devised Theater involving adults with and without disabilities. - International Piloting successfully implemented with the involvement of educators/trainers from partner organizations (5 educators/trainers per country/partner). - Local Programmes implemented in each partner country with the involvement of 15 learners per country (5 with physical disability, 5 with slight cognitive disability and 5 non disabled adults). - 1 theatrical performance at the conclusion of each Local Programme. - 1 Guidebook providing orientation and methodological guidance for operators in the implementation of Devised Theater co-creation programmes involving adults with and without disabilities. - 1 Web Platform in multiple languages including E-Modules for the self-development of operators in the field across partner countries and in Europe. - 1 Multiplier Event implemented per each partner country with the participation of 100 individuals among general public, disabled adults and stakeholders per Event. The European Disability Strategy (2010) sets the overall objective of empowering people with disability with a view to enabling their full participation in society on a footing of parity with the non disabled, also by positive action aimed at eliminating all kinds of discrimination against disabled people. Among the stumbling blocks mentioned by the strategy are persisting discrimination, low access to education and employment in the labor market and income inequalities/poverty affecting the disabled disproportional than the rest of the population due to root causes of lower participation in education and employment. At the European level, only 48,7% of persons with disabilities are employed compared with 72,5% of the non disabled. For the 20-64 component of the disabled population, the EU unemployment rate is 19,6% against a total unemployment of 12,7% for the average adult targets. At the European level, 41.2% of persons aged 30-34 have completed a tertiary or equivalent education against a 29,7% pertance among the corresponding age-band of the disabled population. The Report "The European Comparative Data on Europe 2020 & People with Disabilities" (2017) released by the Center for Social and Economic Policy, notices that disability increases the risk of poverty and social exclusion in all EU Member States. Dis-Act deploys an intervention on the skills-related and emotional dimension of disabled people's plight through exploiting the educational, integration and creative dimension of Devised Theater. Devised Theater is conceived as an original approach to the theatrical production entailing a peer process of cooperation between a group of co-creators in the achievement of a final artistic product. Through the production of a quality educational offer fostering the capacities of adult operators and institutions in employing Devised Theater as an instrument of empowerment of disabled adults in the context of co-creation programmes engaging them in peer-interaction with adults not affected by disability, Dis-Act will therefore set the grounds for the development of soft/transversal skills and competences of creative expression in the disabled, while at the same time breaking stereotypes and the internalized as well as external emotional barriers hampering the full inclusion of disabled adults in society. |
Prospects in Peripheries
The project PROSPECTS IN THE PERIPHERIES (PIP) aims to counter uneven development which
increasingly marginalises the peripheral regions across Europe. The peripheries, which are increasingly less favored over urban centers, as a result often have fewer opportunities in terms of (among others):
This project deploys innovative educational methods to involve NEETs in the job market, creating for them various tools that, at the same time, can promote entrepreneurship, especially of sustainable ideas in the partners' cities: this means that the project "PIP" contributes to building the prospects and economies of the periperipies. The partnership is composed by 7 experienced organisations from Copenhaghen (Denmark), Perfugas (Italy), Berlin (Germany), Czestochowa (Poland), Joensuu (Finland), Larisa (Greece), and Alora (Spain) with respective/complementary expertise. PIP intends to implement:
PIP will run for a period of 28 months with project activities running from 01-09-2019 til 31/12/2021. The 2 foreseen intellectual outputs are:
Both of the intellectual outputs are planned to allow for the development of innovative tools to train NEETs to develop their own projects, thus promoting local communities, in direct connection with the JSTE planned to be realized in Spain and directred as a T.o.T. (training of trainers) for the partner staff involved. The staff should train during the final semiars for the NEETs, who will then exhibit their outcomes from the training at the 7 multiplier events. The project foresees an enormous and effective impact at local, regional, national and European level on various target groups and it is really sustainable also after the project end because it can generate job opportunities for young people in the peripheries and involve also Municipalities, Businesses, and other stakeholders in its promotion. |

RuralitiesRuralities project’s main objective is to empower citizens of rural and remote areas to become real actors for the improvement of the social and physical living conditions in their localities.
Our specific goal is to create a game based learning tool for being used in local trainings on participatory processes, in the frame of non-formal education. The target groups of Ruralities are:
Ruralities will be implemented by a newly established Consortium constituted by 6 organisations all of them being experienced in participatory processes and adult education. Most of them had already worked together in other educational projects. Ruralities will be coordinated by the Lead partner, Ipso Facto, a task that will be shared with one of the German partners CRN. CRN will bring its experiences from the recently finalized Eurbanities project, inspiring Ruralities. The main results of the project:
The main activities of the project will be organised into work packages and will cut the project into different phases, as follows:

Eurbanities 2.0
Eurbanities 2.0 is a project consisting out of creative people from NGOs, research, formal and non-formal education, who understand themselves as catalysts for communities.
The project partner have a commitment to and engagement with citizens and want to work on concrete tools and methods for those. The team is curious, open minded but with experience, technical, teaching and research skills and some already existing participatory methods. However EUrbanities 2.0 want more outreach and impact. Not all partner have skills in game development and some feel economic needs in order to work on the project. Still as creators we want to create livable neighborhoods and ensure that people know how to make their voices heard. As intermediaries we know that we are not alone and thus contribute to positive change as responsible European citizens. The direct target groups are Trainers and activists with direct links to citizens, citizens from urban neighborhoods, who want to be active, policy makers who want to be involved and maybe stuck in old processes and researcher and experts. While those may use directly the tools, we want to address indirectly vulnerable people, but as well families, gamers, local authorities, political parties and movements, local organisations, students, academia, educators and the civil society in general. Although we are limited by rules, Borders and procedures, we are guided by the will to motivate people, experience, knowledge and the desire to experiment. We are looking calm and with smiles for the x-factor, helping us to create positive impact for our children. Our call is to help citizens to help themselves, to be active and make their voices heard. It is important to make the people recognized in the broader policy making system. We want to empower as many as possible, with a practical approach and learn about the neighborhoods and how to translate their needs into education. In general we are motivated by impact. We want to explore practices of co-creation. We do not know everything, meaning we want to learn from others and create together new knowledge and tools. Further we want to share knowledge, discuss and gain new skills. Transferability is important, however we want to use smartly existing things and contribute to circularity and sustainability. We desire the treasure of understanding other concepts and seek a process design for co-creation. We desire usable tools for social change, methodology to help people finding their voice and interactive, creative methods like role plays. We want a tool which is connecting citizens and policy makers - but also a training for activists or even city events for all citizens. All of this with a clear assessable work track and of course a break even. |

Co-EngageModern society is undergoing rapid and profound changes. A recent study found that about 30% of tasks in 60% of occupations could be atomized (December 2017, McKinsey & Company) leaving space and need for new synergies between activities and innovations.
In terms of social innovation, European Commission brings up the concept of co-creation on the agenda: “The empowerment of actors is, according to research as well as practitioners <…> (Vale, A. 2009), what qualifies the innovation — ‘engaging citizens as co-creators’.” This idea was also expressed by President Barroso: ‘A successful innovation policy is one that involves all actors in society, innovation is something you do with people, not to them’ (13 October 2010). If the ultimate objective is to introduce sustainable change, then the main variable is people’s empowerment. “Co-creation and co-innovation by universities and public research organisations with businesses, social institutions, government, and citizens need a specific set of skills” (EC, 2014). Co-Engage is built on the conviction that teaching participation through co-creation will contribute to the empowerment of all citizens, independently of their age, gender, ethnic or any other belongings. Co-Engage has been conceived by 8 European partners, active in different fields and sectors, from social innovation and services till fashion design, experienced in formal and non-formal education. Our consortium will contribute to the development of co-creation skills enabling citizens to become social innovators. Based on the exchange of experiences and learning through co-creation, our method will permit to bring in light know-how and competences engaging citizens for innovation and creativity and through this, creating bridges between divers sectors and fields of activity. Co-Engage project circle is oriented on work packages, milestones, staff trainings and transnational meetings. The most important activities carried out will be the collection and analysis of good practices and their testing in co-creation labs. Co-creation labs will be implemented during three training courses. Co-creation labs typically involve hands-on activities in which a group of peers expresses experiences and explores potential solutions in a tangible way. Collaborating in this way provokes discussion and creates valuable insights. Co-Engage methodology will build on the concept of “critical design thinking”, an attitude where critical approach of traditional and accustomed values brings new ideas and new results and form an important element of co-creation. The overall aim of Co-Engage is to identify the main areas where co-creation can contribute to turning citizens in active innovators of the society, and to gather and discuss good practices representing each of these areas. In order to achieve this main goal, the implementation phase of the project will lead to 5 main results. Result 1: elaboration of at least 80 smart practice evaluations on co-creation methods in the different sectors (private, public and NGO) based on a commonly approved evaluation grid. Result 2: Organisation of 3 Co-Engage Labs. During the labs, the techniques and methods of co-creation will be discussed (Lab 1 - Co-discovery: Citizens as co-implementers), their transferability will be tested (Lab 2 - co-speculation: Citizens as co-designers) and finally the methods will be implemented outside the project (Lab 3 - Co-Creation: Citizens as initiators). Result 3: The smart practices evaluation and the three Co-Engage Labs will lead to the identification of a large number of co-creation practices, that will be gathered and presented in an interactive map; Result 4: The Co-Engage consortium is composed by partners who are all actively engaged in teaching and training; each of them representing at least 2 of the key competences of Lifelong Learning identified by the Erasmus + programme. A specific work package of the project will be dedicated at the identification of the main pedagogical tools and methods improving co-creation skills, as well as of their main learning outcomes. Result 5: A project eBook, main dissemination product of the project. It will summarise all methods, recommendations and inputs. |

Voicitys
VOICITYS aims to improve social integration through reinforcing social dialogue and communication in European urban neighbourhoods characterised by ethnical and cultural diversity. More particularly, we intend to improve and make sustainable the communication and interaction between different social groups, and to deepen dialogue between policy makers, stakeholders and citizens in order to promote more efficient management of diversity. Comparing the positive and negative experiences of local citizens with those of local stakeholders, leaders and decision-makers will improve common understandings of diversity at the neighbourhood level. It will also encourage new approaches to existing policies, incentives and tools regarding social integration and sustainable diversity.
Activities The project studies four diverse European neighbourhoods: Berlin, Budapest, Manchester and Sassari through three main activities: 1) collecting and curating stories of citizens through Community Reporting (80 citizen stories) 2) collecting and analysing stakeholders’ views through semi-structured interviews (45 interviews); 3) comparing the results of the two methods and elaborating a series of policy recommendations through participative workshops and consensus meetings. Type and number of persons benefiting from the project 10 trained volunteers/community reporters, 80 citizens and 50 policy stakeholders directly benefiting. VOICITYS will collect information on local diversity from citizens and stakeholders and outline multilevel policy recommendations. In doing this our consortium intends to develop a new model of citizen participation in local and European policies related to diversity. Deliverables include 4 local and 1 EU Reports on Challenges of Diversity - local and European level (in 4 languages), 4 local and 1 EU reports on policy recommendations, and a “Voices of Diversity” book and film. |
