CRN PARTIcipatory lab launched
Participation is a crucial step for active citizenship. Placemaking, digital literacy, neighborhood involvement and civic education are among the multiple elements through wich CRN is contributing to teaching and empowering participatory processes.
Currently, in order to bring together in a systemic way all these elements of our activity, CRN is building a Horizontal Participatory Lab, for developing scientifc research, organising conferences and workshops, editing divers publications and last but not least developing learning methods, games and other tools for empowering active citizenship. One of our first activities is the constitution of a European Participatory Map summarizing all the good practices gathered so far.
Eurbanities - our interactive game on urban participation is launched
The EURBANITIES game will function as an online game for individual use as well as a pedagogical tool for a training program. Its aim is to stimulate the strategy-making process of civil activists and residents that are actively participating in neighborhood-level urban development projects. EURBANITIES will help them advance their actions in a strategic way, based on know-how accumulated through the analysis of already existing experiences from around Europe.

educitizens project launched European Map on smart participation
To participate is one of the core skills in the nowadays digital society.
Participation means to be in the position to gather information, reflect them and articulate opinion. Participation inherent the ability to conceptualize information and put them into different context. From the perspective of employability, the knowledge on how to participate includes management and leadership skills but as well openness for new ideas and concepts. Transferring participation into education means to educate self-aware citizens, who are open to new ideas, cultures and concepts and who are willing to form and influence actively their society.
Therefore it was beneficially to create curricula, which had a European perspective on citizenship and participation. Still each country inside the EU has different approaches, traditions and educational systems. Further on trainings and workshops exist but never been brought together at the European Level.
This map is one of the tools to show our effort of international smart practices exchanging. You can check the map at http://map.educitizens.org/
